Magnifying Glasses

Summer months, time again to bring out the kids' magnifying glasses. When before they are finding bugs too yucky, now they are discovering that bugs are beauties, too. All I can say is, yiiikeees!

Rainworms, assortment of snails, beetles of all colors and sizes, insects -- anything or just everything that crawls and flies, as long as they can catch them and put them inside their magnifying glasses. The rule is: catch them, look at them, and then let them go.

We forgot to inform them about the golden rule. We only remembered when our kids were in their room and MC started to scream, asking for help. Why? The magnifying glass turned over and it was not tightly closed -- the bug went out. Oops. Good thing my husband's hands were faster than the bug. The number one rule should be: never ever bring the magnifying glass inside the house when bugs are in them.
