Zum Schiff Restaurant is located right in front of the Neckar River, in Neckarsteinach. Our chance to enjoy the view without being out in the open in that real breezy day came with a window table.

I had salmon filet with rice and salad while my hubby went for the unsurprising Steak. The kids goobled up the spätzle, a German pasta, with sauce.

Thai Restaurant

A favorite restaurant, the authentic Ban Thai Restaurant in Darmstadt. I am emphasizing 'original' because there are a lot of restaurants here stamping themselves as real Thai restaurants, and they would turn out to be copy cats.

Oh, I know the real taste, I worked in Thailand for more than four years. I am not an authority though. But let me tell you, if you love Thai food, this is the place to be. If I sound like a commercial, pardon me :-)

Want to know what we ate? Mi Khao Phad, Kraduck Moo Thod, Matsaman Nuea and Moo Phad Prig -- and here's my verdict, 'aloi mak mak, kha!'

Hasentreff

Hasentreff -- meaning, hare's meeting place. This is a restaurant owned and managed by a club, in which the members are hare lover's and hare owners.

Anyway, our neighbor's a regular customer who's been urging us to try the said restaurant. It is located near our place, on the clearing before entering the woods. One fine day, we decided to try the food. We reached the place before 6 pm -- thus we had to wait as the kitchen would be open at 6 pm. It was worth the wait, steaks and grilled things, with side dishes of french fries and bread. I am surprised as the price list seemed too reasonable, hmm, the service is like a mom and pop store. But we did came for the food! Yummy -- we'll be back for more, I hope!
