Two full carts, a basket of chrysanthemum, two tired little girls, a shocked papa (the prices, the prices) and a still thoughtful mama (did i forget something, hmmm) -- those were the result of our last visit to the warehouse of Metro.

Playtime at the Optical Shop

Papa took his time having his eyes checked. Mama took her sweet time trying on sunglasses and eyeglasses. The kids enjoyed their playtime at the optical shop. A great day!

Neckarsteinach

We passed Neckarsteinach, the Vierburgenstadt (the city of 4 castles), during our drive to and from the Odenwald Camping. Of course, the castles are either ruins or simply walls; but for me, they are still curiosities. They were going to have a light festivities this weekend, we were really sorry to miss that spectacular display.

At least, it felt like that for a few minutes while waiting for my husband to take a nice shot. A nice shot is a photo that wont make you look fat, dont you agree?

Catholic Church (Front Facade)

The newly painted front facade of the Catholic Church. The first photo was an afternoon shot taken from a far angle while the second one was a late morning shot just in front of the church. Just explaining because the color of both photos' facade seem to differ in hue, haha!

Spring Water

This spring water fronts our city's Catholic Church. This water offers everybody walking along its path a welcome freshness for a warm day. Warning: not drinking water.

Kids love to stamp on the puddles, weary travellers cup their hand for a refreshing face bath, moms walking this path pause to wash their and their kids' sticky hands, and the small gardeners' pile their pails to water their plants.

Water for everyone.

Catholic Church

This is our city's Catholic church, built around 1920s. A fascinating fact? It used to be both the Catholic and Protestant church, until a new church was built for the Protestants much, much later.

The View

With their box of cereal mix in front, the kids enjoyed the view during our train ride to Darmstadt, like watching a tv. With questions thrown every a few moments, squealling when they saw horses and oggling the meadow for a glimpse of the occasional reindeers or the rabbits.

Ice Cream

Finally, we did go! Last night, I realized that tomorrow would be a good time to visit the Langnese Factory Outlet located a few minutes from our place. My husband agreed. It would have been faster if I checked the special offers in their website, but I completely forgot.

In the morning, after the chaos of getting the kids ready for kindergarten, there was simply not enough time. We drove to the factory without any idea what we wanted to buy. Oh, but having no idea what to buy did not really limit our options. We did buy, or hoarded might be the better word.

Langnese is well known for their ice cream products, but they have also diversified into frozen products, milk products and even frozen baked products. I lingered on the ice cream products and fought with my husband on getting more chocos or more vanilla flavored ice cream -- who won? One to one, we decided to get two boxes - one choco and one vanilla.

Then took a bag of salami baguette, two boxes of frozen classic burger, a few boxes of frozen spinach with cream sauce, more boxes of frozen spinach with gorgonzola sauce, one big big box of assorted ice sticks or popsicles, 6 cans of assorted ice cream, more boxes of ice cream sticks and more and more ice cream sticks. It never seemed to end. I just had to have them, the Bart Simpsons sticks, the Sponge Bob sticks, the Strawberry Sticks, etc. I am thinking, 'the kids would love that.' And their mom, too :-)

Our freezer were full to the brim. I had to eat one or two popsicles so that I could close it, really! Ok, I ate more than two, haha!

Villa Kunterbunt

This was our destination for our second kids' day in February. Villa Kunterbunt is an indoor playground. If you are familiar with Pippi Longstockings, then this is Villa Villekula in English.

We've heard about this place, but this would be our first time to visit. Oh, it is huge! There are picnic tables near the bistro for moms and dads. And the rest is a giant playground for kids.

Everybody must remove their shoes when they enter the play area. There is a separate place in a corner for small kids, that they wont get trampled by the bigger kids. The kids dont know where to start. But moved, they did.

They are free to play, to run, to romp around. They tried the climbing frames, trampolin, football field, car rides, and bouncing houses. I had to close my eyes when it was my turn to accompany both of them in the steep slide. I've never done that in my whole life, and yet, because it is kids' day... swoosh, down we went! Purely adrenaline. I screamed louder than the kids. My eldest hurt herself though. My chance to say, 'we dont need to do that again.' Hoping they would listen to the voice of experience. Uh, no chance. In a minute, they were up there again. Not with me, it's papa's turn!

Oh, the wobble mountain. That was fun, though I didnt manage to reach the top. Maybe next time. I already lost my self on the slide.
